Why oh why?

Gnome shoes and more gnome shoes.  Did you know that was a thing? Neither did I.  My friend Lydia found these and others at ModCloth.  It is a great site - lots of fun things.   I'm not sure who wears these shoes, but check them out for a little entertainment.

I shook it off, Taylor

I try not to like Taylor Swift.  I really do.  My dear friend Nicole and her sweet brother took Nicole's daughter to her concert a few years ago and I thought I couldn't imagine anything worse and didn't understand how she was able to convince Marc to go with her.  Even knowing how much he adores his niece.  Her "I'm so surprised I won" act annoys me as does her "dancing like she's at a rock concert" at every awards show.  Having said that, I kind of admire her for just getting up and rocking out no matter where she is.  I'm not familiar with her entire catalog, but the bubblegum-y tunes I do know are pretty catchy.  It used to annoy me, but I am starting to find it humorous how much she writes about her bad relationships.  I saw a clip of her giving advice to the contestants on The Voice next week and thought she a.) gave good advice and b.) was kind of funny.  So...I guess what I'm saying I think I kind of like her.

Trader Joe's...oops they did it again!

I love you more than any person should.  You are so much more than just a store.  You have the most amazing products all year long, but I am especially fond of you in the fall.  You share my love of all things pumpkin and for that you have my heart.  I'm a huge fan of your pumpkin products:  soup, biscotti, macarons, ice cream, waffles, crackers, pancakes and bread.  I also recently tried your Dark Chocolate Pumpkin Sea Salt Caramels and let me just say perfection! But, your Pumpkin Body Butter has made me so happy this year.  It is thick, but not too thick and super moisturizing.  Plus, it has the added bonus of allowing me to smell my beloved pumpkin all day long! Hopefully, not everyone wants to smell like a pumpkin pie so it doesn't sell out before I can go back to get another tub of it!

The Ferret...Online

You wash your face with what???

For some strange reason, my the topic of skincare has come up several times lately...at work as well as with friends. Most people are surprised to learn I have been using oil to clean my skin. I'm really not "crunchy", but I read about the Oil Cleansing Method online and was intrigued.  I initially tried it with an olive oil and Castor Oil blend, but recently switched to a Castor Oil and Grape Seed Oil blend and think I like it better. I mix it up in advance and keep it in a Squeeze Bottle and it lasts for a while. I don't think I'm following it down to the letter, but I love what I'm doing.  I basically heat up my water while rubbing the oil all over my face.  I then take a washcloth and run it under the hot water and put it on my face until it cools down.  I wipe off the residue with the same washcloth and go on about my merry way...it is so awesome and feels like a mini facial when I'm done.

P.S.  If you want to do it the "right" way or get tips about other oil combinations, be sure to check out the post I originally referenced.

Popcorn on my lips?

I'm really enjoying Rimmel's 3D gloss - especially Popcorn for 2.  I picked it up one night when I was looking for a neutral gloss and have been very pleased with it.  It is a nice light peach that doesn't look "peachy" on my lips.  I'm not really a peach kind of girl, so that is a good thing.  Anyway, the reason I know it is a good color is both my mom and sister commented on it.  When I'm wearing a pale gloss, they usually tell me I need something a little darker or brighter.  Success! I'm almost out of my first tube...better run out and get another asap!
